Abstract

This study provides a comprehensive exploration of the ethical framework governing war and peace in Islamic law, drawing upon the Qur’an, Hadith, and classical jurisprudential sources. It examines how Islamic ethics regulate the conduct of warfare, emphasizing principles of justice, proportionality, and the protection of non-combatants. The paper also investigates the promotion of peaceful resolutions, reconciliation, and human dignity in the aftermath of conflict. Through historical and contemporary case studies, the research highlights the enduring relevance of Islamic ethical guidelines in addressing modern international conflicts and humanitarian challenges. The study further integrates classical Islamic legal thought with contemporary international humanitarian law, offering insights for policymakers, scholars, and practitioners seeking ethically grounded approaches to conflict resolution.
