Abstract

The study explores the jurisprudential framework of Fish al-Aqalliyyat (Fish of Minorities) and its application in contemporary contexts where Muslims live as minority communities. This research provides a comprehensive analytical perspective on the multifaceted challenges faced by minority Muslims, including religious practice limitations, social integration, identity preservation, and legal constraints. Simultaneously, it examines the opportunities inherent in pluralistic societies that allow for interfaith dialogue, cultural exchange, and the promotion of social cohesion. By reviewing classical Islamic legal sources alongside modern scholarly interpretations, the study highlights adaptive jurisprudential approaches that maintain fidelity to Sharia principles while addressing contemporary realities. Moreover, it offers practical recommendations for community leaders, policymakers, and religious scholars to strengthen the agency of Muslim minorities and enhance their participation in civic life. Ultimately, this work contributes to a nuanced understanding of how Islamic jurisprudence can be applied flexibly to uphold religious rights and societal harmony in minority contexts.
