Abstract

Religious education plays a pivotal role in shaping the moral, ethical, and social behaviors of individuals within Islamic societies. This study examines how the principles of Islamic teachings, when effectively integrated into educational curricula, can serve as a preventive and corrective measure against violence. The research highlights the correlation between understanding core Islamic values—such as compassion, justice, patience, and respect for human life—and the reduction of violent tendencies among youth and adults alike. Furthermore, it explores practical strategies for embedding religious education into both formal and informal learning environments, including schools, mosques, and community centers. The study also considers the challenges faced in implementing religious education programs, such as socio-economic disparities, cultural misinterpretations, and lack of trained educators. Through a combination of qualitative analysis of educational frameworks and case studies from various Islamic societies, this research underscores the transformative potential of religious education in fostering peaceful, cohesive, and resilient communities. Ultimately, the findings advocate for a comprehensive, value-based educational approach that not only imparts knowledge but also nurtures moral responsibility and social harmony, contributing to long-term reductions in violence.
