Keywords:
interfaith dialogue, peaceful coexistence, Islamic ethics, tolerance, conflict resolutionAbstract
Interfaith dialogue has emerged as a critical mechanism for fostering mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence among diverse religious communities. From an Islamic perspective, the principles of dialogue, tolerance, and respect for human dignity are deeply rooted in the Qur’an, Habit, and the practices of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This paper explores the theoretical foundations of interfaith dialogue in Islam, emphasizing the ethical, social, and spiritual imperatives that guide Muslim engagement with other faiths. The study further analyzes contemporary challenges, such as religious intolerance, cultural misconceptions, and geopolitical conflicts that impede harmonious interreligious relations. By examining historical precedents and modern applications, the paper underscores Islam’s commitment to promoting peaceful coexistence, conflict resolution, and constructive cooperation across religious boundaries. The findings highlight that interfaith dialogue not only strengthens communal bonds but also contributes to global peace and socio-cultural development, offering practical insights for policymakers, religious leaders, and scholars.
