Abstract

The Holy Quran emphasizes the significance of protecting the natural environment as a sacred trust bestowed upon humankind. The Quran repeatedly stresses the balance of nature, the preservation of resources, and the responsibility of human beings as stewards (khilāfah) of the earth. Modern environmental challenges such as pollution, deforestation, climate change, and water scarcity pose threats not only to ecological balance but also to human survival. This research paper explores the Quran perspective on environmental sustainability and highlights verses that guide believers towards conservation and moderation. It underscores the moral and ethical responsibility of Muslims to safeguard the environment as part of their faith. Furthermore, the study argues that Islamic teachings provide a comprehensive framework for environmental protection, linking ecological preservation with spiritual accountability. By integrating Quran injunctions with modern environmental strategies, societies can develop sustainable solutions for present and future generations.
