significance, and contemporary manifestations. Through an interdisciplinary approach
drawing from anthropology, sociology, history, and musicology, the paper examines the
role of music in shaping identities, fostering social cohesion, and transmitting values and
beliefs. It investigates the rich diversity of musical genres and instruments found in
various regions, highlighting their unique stylistic characteristics and influences.
Furthermore, the paper explores the complex relationship between music and Islam,
considering both historical debates and contemporary perspectives on the permissibility
and interpretations of musical practices within Islamic contexts. Additionally, it
