Abstract

Islamic teachings emphasize the importance of environmental stewardship,
aligning with the modern concept of sustainability in the face of rapid technological
advancements. The relationship between humans and the environment is central to
Islamic ethics, advocating for a harmonious coexistence between nature and humanity.
The Quran and Hadith outline clear principles of conservation, responsible resource
use, and ecological balance, calling for the protection of water, land, and biodiversity.
In the age of technology, these principles are increasingly relevant as we confront
environmental degradation, climate change, and resource depletion. This article
explores how Islamic teachings can inform and guide contemporary environmental
ethics, particularly in the context of technological innovation and its impact on the
environment. It reinterprets sustainability through the lens of Islamic values, promoting
eco-friendly practices and responsible technology use as part of the broader ethical
framework provided by Islamic doctrine.
