Abstract

This scholarly article explores the significance of Islamic charity, known as
Zakat, in addressing poverty. Zakat, one of the five pillars of Islam, holds a central
position in the socioeconomic fabric of Muslim societies. This paper examines the
principles of Zakat, its administration, and its impact on poverty alleviation. By
analyzing various case studies and scholarly literature, this article underscores the
effectiveness of Zakat in fostering social welfare and reducing poverty levels within
Muslim communities.
